Coating mixture for application of a corrosion protection polymer coatings to a metal base useful for automobile, aircraft, space shuttle, building, machine tool, and domestic equipment and furniture industries, and for laminates
A coating mixture for application of a corrosion protection polymer coatings to a metal base, where the mixture contains at least one radical polymerizable compound and at least one photoinitiator, and a process for application of the polymer coating mixture in the edge region and/or at a weld on the metal base, e.g. a metal band, metal sheet, or shaped metal part is new. A coating mixture for application of polymer coatings to a metal base, where the mixture contains at least one radical polymerizable compound and at least one photoinitiator, and a process for application of the polymer coating mixture in the edge region, a repair point, and/or at a weld on the metal base, e.g. a metal band, metal sheet, or shaped metal part, where the mixture is largely completely or completely free from water and/or organic solvent, contains at least one radically polymerizable binder, and at least one forming compound forming free radicals under the action of actinic radiation, where the radical polymerizable compound is completely cured by the action of the actinic radiation and the free radicals formed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for preparation of the polymer as above where the coating mixture is radiated with actinic radiation of intensity such that a strongly adhering, viscoelastic corrosion resistant coat ing mixture is formed; and (2) a coating mixture from a crosslinked coating mixture obtained by actinic radiation as above and heat treatment at least 80 deg C of the coating mixture on the coated base, followed by drying.
