Inductive angle or position sensor for use in safety critical motor vehicle applications, has redundant receiver coil groups connected to a single evaluation circuit with their signal processed in a multiplexed manner
Inductive angle or position sensor for a motor vehicle comprises a stator (9), excitation coils (4) and at least two receiver coil groups (2, 3). The signals from the receiver coil groups are acquired using separate inputs to the same evaluation circuit (8). They are evaluated using the same amplification and evaluation channel using a multiplexing process. The second receiver coil group is positioned anticlockwise with respect to the first coil group in terms of its connection to the evaluation circuit.
