Production of solid body particles of a prescribed size involves contacting a second liquid with a first liquid through a line; and forming the solid body particles using an exothermic reaction of part of the first liquid with a component of the second liquid. The growth of the solid body particles proceeds up to a certain point by selecting the reaction conditions. During the reaction, turbulence is avoided by controlling the particle growth. Preferred Features: Both liquids have a density differing by at least 10 kg/m3, especially by 100 kg/m3. The second liquid has the lower density, and is added from below into the first liquid, preferably through a line having an inner diameter in the region of the outlet of 1-5 mm. A suspension with a solid body particle concentration of 10-6 to 10 mol/l is produced. The second liquid is added at a defined speed.
