The device has a network interface (NS) based on a packet-oriented communications protocol, a conference circuit unit (LKB) for connection-switched multi-point communications using a communications interface (LS2) based on a connection-oriented communications protocol and a converter (IWU) between the network and communications interfaces for converting between connection-oriented and packet-oriented protocols.
