The method uses several lances or probes, each with tubular body, conical head, and outlets. The lances are in flow connection with a compressed air system. They are driven into the ground closely around the excavation to be drained, to a depth below the excavation floor, and air is injected to drive-out ground water. Some of the lances are placed at angles of not 90 deg relative to the vertical. Each lance (8) consists of a steel tube, with a head section connected to a vibrator (6,11), and a hose connection (13) to a compressor (5). The conical lance tip (9,12) has narrow apertures with fine filters.
