Apparatus for detecting luminescence from micro-arrays, comprising: (a) directing a white light beam from a lamp (1) at the micro-array (5) by an optical imaging system (4); and (b) focusing the fluorescence emitted from the micro-array at a detector (7) by an optical detection system (6), where it is digitized, is new.
