Shape memory composite includes a second shape memory alloy (F2), bonded to a first shape memory alloy (F1). Phase transition of alloy (F2) occurs into austenitic phase (A) on heating and into the martensitic phase (M) on cooling. These transitions occur in a hysteresis loop with a temperature hysteresis band (B2). The hysteresis band (B1) of the alloy (F1) falls within band (B2) of alloy (F2). The shape memory composite includes at least one second shape memory alloy (F2), bonded directly or indirectly to the first shape memory alloy (F1). It exists in a martensitic phase (M) and/or in an austenitic phase (A) in accordance with the temperature (T). Phase transition of the second shape memory alloy (F2) occurs into the austenitic phase (A) on heating and into the martensitic phase (M) on cooling. These transitions occur in a hysteresis loop with a temperature hysteresis band (B2). The hysteresis band (B1) of the first shape memory alloy falls within band (B2) of the second shape memory alloy (F2). An Independent claim is included for the method of changing the shape of the composite, by heating or cooling.
