Branching safety devices (AG4-AG6) assigned to branches/junctions (A1-A3) connected to a track cable (1) each transmit a diverging junction/splitting fault/defect signal to a central control device (CCD) (40) if a fault/defect exists on the track cable or is identified as an occurrence on a branch/junction. A branching safety device sends a fault/defect signal to the CCD if the fault/defect exists on the track cable and all branches/junctions are turned off. An Independent claim is also included for a system for identifying faults in an electrical radial feeder electric power distribution system/radial network.
