Process for neutralizing calcium hydroxide in soil improved with white fine chalk comprises removing the soil using a excavator shovel; blowing an air-gas mixture enriched with carbon dioxide into the soil using a distributor nozzle; and introducing carbon dioxide to react with the calcium hydroxide in the soil. Preferred Features: The soil containing calcium hydroxide is mixed with a powdered carbon dioxide (CO2) support and a powdered substance containing CO2 is added, the materials are intensively mixed so that the calcium hydroxide reacts with the CO2 and the pozzolanic reaction is prevented.
