Method for compensation of dispersion in short coherence or OCT interferometer signals, in which the effect of dispersion is eliminated by post-compensation, in that the interferometer signal is correlated with a spatially varying correlation core, which corresponds to a single point-type light emitting position with the same dispersion that is moved along the measurement axis in the z-direction. The invention also relates to a corresponding arrangement.
