Exhaust gas particle filter used for removing particles from exhaust gas stream of diesel engine comprises metal support with openings and on which porous sintered metal powder is bound by sintering process
An exhaust gas particle filter comprises a metal support (1) with openings (O) and on which porous sintered metal powder is bound by a sintering process. The support is made from an expanded metal and the sections delimiting the openings are joined to each other by the material bond. The support is calendered after the expansion process by an amount that does not exceed 70%. Preferred Features: The ratio of the support weight to the sintered metal weight is less than 3:7. The sintered metal fills only the openings of the support. The filter has elements made from filter material. The openings have an opening angle of 40-80 deg .
