Motor vehicle diagnostic method in which a local service center has an arrangement for connecting to a motor vehicle onboard computer and linking this to a central diagnostic and testing center thus reducing costs
According to the method: motor vehicle data relevant to the vehicles operation is collected and transmitted to a central station; the data is fed to a corresponding test unit based on the type of vehicle and evaluated accordingly; and lastly the one or more results of the evaluation are transmitted back to the motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for implementation of the method.
