Detonation device for passenger restraint device in automobile has fuse wire between 2 parallel contact pins embedded in detonation material held in place by indented sidewalls of detonation chamber
The detonation device (1) has an annular pole body (2) of an electrically-conductive material, coupled to a contact pin (6) and provided with a glass sleeve (7) for a second parallel contact pin (8). A cap (3) fitted to the pole body encloses a detonation chamber (5) containing a detonation material (10) packed around a fuse wire (9) connected between the contact pins. The glass sleeve ends below the surface of the pole body and the second contact pin, which projects into the detonation material, the sidewalls (4) of the detonation chamber indented above the surface of the detonation material for holding the latter in place.
