Production of metallic profile components for motor vehicles comprises inductively heating partial regions of a cold-formed profile to a temperature required for hardening followed by quenching in a cooling unit before cutting
Production of metallic profile components (10) for motor vehicles comprises feeding a sheet of starting material into a cold-forming unit (3) to produce a cold-formed profile (5) which then passes through a cutting unit (9). After leaving the cold-forming unit at least partial regions of the cold-formed profile are inductively heated to a temperature required for hardening and are then quenched in a cooling unit (7) before cutting. An Independent claim is also included for an alternative process. Preferred Features: At least partial regions of the hardened cold-formed profile are heated to a tempering temperature before cutting.
