Protection of submerged structures, against the effects of waves, has an inner wall against the structure and an outer wall formed by floating rings linked by membranes, with a filling in the wall gap to reduce force transfer
The assembly to protect submerged structures from the effects of waves has an inner wall (1) shrouding the structure (2), and an outer wall formed by three rings (3). The rings have a stiff lower section (4) and a foam floating section (5), with flexible membranes (6) giving wall surfaces between rings. Both walls are anchored to a common base (7) on the sea bed (10). The outer wall is subjected to wave forces, and the space between the walls is filled with a medium with a higher compressibility or viscosity than water, to reduce the transfer of wave forces against the inner wall.
