PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for predicting illumination radiance ratio for augmented reality, a method and an apparatus for augmented reality using the same are provided to accurately predict information of illumination when a blocking object is being photographed, realistically compound a virtual object having natural shadow with a single image. CONSTITUTION: A method for predicting illumination radiance ratio for augmented reality includes the steps of preparing a first image data having data related to a background image not including a blocking object, preparing a second image data having data related to the background image including the blocking object and data related to a region obstructed by the blocking object in the background image(10); predicting illumination radiance ratio by using the first and second image data when the background image is being photographed(12); compounding at least one virtual object having a shadow at least one image frame by using the predicted illumination radiance ratio(14).
