PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling temperature distribution of strip in rapid cooling section of continuous cold annealing furnace using fuzzy method are provided to control widthwise temperature distribution of strip by deriving opening control amount of damper of gas jet through fuzzy inference. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for controlling temperature distribution of strip of rapid cooling section of continuous cold annealing furnace in the rapid cooling section facility and control system, the apparatus comprising rapid cooling section facility for cooling strip being entered, DDC(30) for sensing roll pressure and strip temperature information of the rapid cooling section, process computer for outputting control signals using information from the DDC(30) and preset information, and PLC for driving cooling rolls of the rapid cooling section facility according to the control signals from the process computer, the apparatus for controlling temperature distribution of strip in rapid cooling section of continuous cold annealing furnace using fuzzy method comprises a fuzzifying introduction part(62) for obtaining temperature deviation values of two points of both sides symmetrical centering around the central part of strip by receiving widthwise temperature of strip temperature detector from the DDC(30), and converting the obtained temperature deviation values into membership function values for fuzzy linguistic variables; database(61) for storing all information required for fuzzification and defuzzification processing defined by fuzzy control rule; fuzzy reference part(63) for inferring synthetic control results by selecting control rules required for correcting widthwise temperature deviation; and defuzzification part(64) in which the DDC(30) at the spot reversely converts the fuzzy reference results into recognizable operating amount output values for controlling opening of damper.
