PURPOSE: A developing unit in the electro-photographing technology and a method for controlling a density thereof are provided to keep a uniform printing density during the valid lifespan of an ink cartridge, thereby realizing uniform and unchangeable image density. CONSTITUTION: A developing unit in the electro-photographing technology includes an ink container(10) filled with a liquid phase ink(15) having an ambient particle concentration and an ambient magnetic resistance by a predetermined level(18). In the ink container, a developing roll(11), and a developing roll rinsing unit(14) are provided to be immersed into the ink. The developing roll has a surface and applied with a first voltage. A skive unit(13) is mounted to mechanically contact the developing roll and not immersed into the ink of the ink container. The developing roll and the skive unit are biased by voltages. The skive unit is applied with a second voltage equal to or larger than the first voltage applied to the developing roll. As the difference between the first and second voltages gets larger, a mass of ink particles per a unit area plated on the developing roll gets larger.
