PURPOSE: A direct connection method and an NRD waveguide for the same are provided to reduce manufacturing costs and achieve improved productivity by eliminating the necessity of using a shift unit. CONSTITUTION: A non-radiative dielectric(NRD) waveguide(100) embedded with a dielectric line(130) is connected to a spherical waveguide in an internal space(102) defined by two conductor plates and a sidewall(112) arranged along the edges of the conductor plates. The side wall has an aperture(114), and the dielectric line is exposed outward through the aperture. The spherical waveguide is directly coupled to the side wall, surrounding the aperture of the NRD waveguide. The aperture has a width same as the vertical or horizontal length of the diameter of the spherical waveguide. The wall of the aperture has a thickness providing optimum characteristics in a predetermined error range, based on the size of 1/4 of the wavelength(g) defined by the formula g=C/f x ¡îr, wherein c is the velocity of light, f is the center frequency, and r is the dielectric constant of the dielectric line.
