PURPOSE: A steel bottom plate for a bridge is provided to shorten a period of construction by simplifying a construction work. CONSTITUTION: The steel bottom plate installed on a main girder(4) of a bridge contains an upper plate, many ribs(3) installed on the base of the upper plate, a male joint(30) folded downward from the upper plate and formed a portion of the edge of the upper plate, and a female joint(20) formed on the edge of the upper plate to house the male joint(30). The construction method for the bottom of a bridge comprises the steps of placing the steel bottom plate on the top of the main girder(4) and interposing/locating the male joint(30) of the steel bottom plate in the female joint(20) of the steel bottom plate, and placing mortar(40) in the female joint(20), then curing the surface.
