PURPOSE: A method for managing an avatar is provided to manage the avatar based on a record through shopping, listening to music, and chatting in a specific site by purchasing a recording medium such as a CD, reproducing the recording medium, and connecting to the specific site. CONSTITUTION: A reproduction contents unit stores at least one information out of a character, a sound source, a moving picture, and an avatar download program. An Internet connection unit includes a product number, the avatar download program, and an address of an Internet site. The Internet connection unit plays a role by connecting to a portal site. A database information unit rears an avatar of a client, raises a grade of the avatar, and supplies various services. An avatar activity ability of a client is raised according to the number of site access times through a recording medium purchase or activity results.
