PURPOSE: A fishway-cum-automatic water gate for water improvement functioning as a multi-discharge system not to accumulate impurities on the lower end of a water gate and being constructed continuously without an intermediate column on the entire width of a river is provided to improve the quality of contaminated water and to help fishes moving to the upper reach a river. CONSTITUTION: The fishway-cum-automatic water gate for water improvement functioning as a multi-discharge system not to accumulate impurities on the lower end of a water gate and being constructed continuously without an intermediate column on the entire width of a river contains a fixed shaft(8) fixed between walls or supports, a water gate(1) provided with a cylinder installation space(20) hinged on the fixed shaft(8), many connectors(5) coupled with the fixed shaft(8) and provided with a movable hinge(6), a cylinder rod and a cylinder(3) coupled with a cylinder bracket(2) formed on the inner top of the water gate(1) by a hinge, a closed cylinder protective case(21) installed in the cylinder installation space(20) to protect the cylinder(3) and the surrounding members from sand and gravel advanced to the lower end of the water gate(1), and a water gate support installed to prevent the counterflow of sand and gravel passing through the top of the water gate(1) to the lower end of the water gate(1).
