PURPOSE: A directional rolling friction pendulum seismic isolation system is provided to protect cultural assets and precision machines from seismic force. CONSTITUTION: The directional rolling friction pendulum seismic isolation system(1) comprises: a lower friction plate(10) forming a primary runway and containing a lower channel; an upper friction plate(20) forming a secondary runway and containing an upper channel; and a roller assembly(30) rolling along the lower friction plate(10) and the upper friction plate(20), making a pendulum motion to reduce seismic force of a structure and containing a bearing structure, many lower rollers attached to the lower part of the bearing structure and rolled along the lower channel of the lower friction plate(10) and many upper rollers attached to the upper part of the bearing structure rotatively and rolled along the upper channel of the upper friction plate(20).
