The invention relates to a method and a device for processing measuring data consisting of a plurality of data records created by temporally successive measurements, by means of a plurality of independent samples taken at random. In order to compare the temporal course of each sample taken at random with the temporal course of a model function, using the general linear model, the necessary calculations are carried out in a succession of data records, obtained from the temporal sequence of measurements, respectively proceeding by data records, i.e. from data record to data record, and are stored as intermediate results, the intermediate results of each immediately preceding data record being actualised by means of the new calculations. The inventive method enables the comparison to be efficiently and quickly calculated in such a way that memory space is saved.
