System for treating solid urban waste.Solid urban waste, SUW, is subjected to a separation process in a rotary screen (1) which diverts the organic matter (2) toward an organic vaporising plate (3) from which is obtained methane which is stored in a gasometre (5) while the rest of the residue is subjected to a sorting phase (6) in which recyclable substances are extracted the non-recyclable substances enter into a composting phase (8) from which the corresponding compost (9) is extracted the non-composted substances (10) enter into a densimetric separator (11) which separates the heavy (16) from the light (12), the latter being subjected to a thermochemical vaporising plate (gasifier) (13) to obtain a lean gas, which is also subjected to the gasometre (5) from which, once mixed with methane, it constitutes a mixture that can be used as fuel for an electric generator (22), for example. IMAGE The treatment of urban solid waste for methane production has a separator drum (1) passing the organic matter (2) to the gasifier (3) yielding methane fed to a gasometer (5). A recyclable products extractor (6) and a composter (8) supplement a densimetric separator (11) of the high- and low-density residues (16,12).The low-density residues (12) yield lean gas in thermochemical gasifier (13), for mixing with the methane and use as fuel.
