The gastight excess pressure jacket of plastic film is for protection against war gases and dangerous chemicals and is supplied with nuclear-biological-chemical filtered breathing air and a device for individually adjusting it to the shape of the integrated hood and the length of the tightly welded jacket arms. The breathing air is supplied by an integrated battery-driven fan motor. The jacket is made preferably in four basic sizes to cover four age groups. A neck band fastened in the jacket air hose connection on the jacket can be regulated manually as to its level and a manual regulating component can be moved inside the jacket in each arm and with its cross-shaped hole maintains its position in a self-locking manner when the correct arm length has been adjusted.
