The present invention relates to the meteorology. The proposed method of remote measurements for determining altitude temperature distribution profiles by acoustic air sounding is distinctive by accomplishing the static sounding by vertically-directed acoustic radiation, measuring the initial phases of the received reflected acoustic signals at identical time intervals for each height profile of the temperature distribution, determining the differences between the velocities of acoustic signals that correspond to the adjoining profiles, measuring the temperature for each profile, measuring the Doppler frequency for each profile, and allowing for the said frequency for determining errors in measuring the initial phases of the reflected acoustic signals. The present invention allows the measurement accuracy to be increased.
