The horizontal spindle based digital e.g. waste water speed meter comprises a PVC rotating digital recorder with an extendable 1.2 m arm and a 75 mm diameter head. The 7.5 cm-3.2 m depth measurement of the instantaneous cumulative and maximum speeds is based on two readings per spindle revolution. EMBODIMENT - A disc, with blades, fixed to the spindle has two symmetrical equal-weight magnets with a magnetic sensor generating a metering electrical pulse rotates in direct proportion to the water speed.
