A method of antibiotic coating non-metallic bodies with interconnecting microhollows is described. The method is characterised in that an aqueous solution 1 is introduced into the microhollows of nonmetallic bodies, the solution containing at least one readily water-soluble antibiotic component selected from the group consisting of aminoglycoside antibiotics, tetracycline antibiotics, linosamide antibiotics and the 4-chinolone antibiotics, and a aqueous solution 2 containing at least one water soluble amphiphilic component selected from the groups consisting of alkyl sulfates, alkyl sulfonates. alkyl aryl sulfates, dialkyl aryl sulfates, alkyl aryl sulfonates, dialkyl aryl sulfonates cycloalkyl sulfates, cycloalkyl sulfonates, alkyl cycloalkyl sulfates, with water being essentially removed by vaporization and/or volatilization between the introduction of solutions 1 and 2 with a sparingly water- soluble precipitate from the components of solutions 1 and 2 being formed in the microhollows.
