PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the amount of corrosion and life of a metallic material due to galvanic corrosion capable of highly accurately predicting galvanic corrosion, the metallic material related to the method, a structure designing method, and a method for manufacturing the metallic material.;SOLUTION: The method for predicting the amount of corrosion and life of the metallic material due to galvanic corrosion comprises a process for measuring both a current which passes when two types of metal pieces S1 and S2 joined via an insulating member 1 are externally brought into contact with each other and its transition with the passage of time and a process for predicting the progress of corrosion of the base metal S2 among the two types of metal pieces S1 and S2 on the basis of the transition of the current with the passage of time measured in the measuring process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
