PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute articles without directly delivering merchandise to a customer by arranging the personnel or performing physical delivery by mail or the like at the time of selling and renting the articles. ;SOLUTION: In a server supporting electronic commerce, the list of merchandise which is the object of the transaction of sale and rental by registered traders is transmitted to a customer terminal, transaction information regarding selected merchandise is acquired from the customer terminal, and an identification number to be utilized for the delivery of the merchandise is issued at the time of the transaction and is transmitted to an electronic locker and the customer terminal. When the customer inputs the identification number to the electronic locker, in the electronic locker, the held identification number and the inputted identification number are compared and unlocking is performed when they are equal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
