PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store image data in a facsimile gateway in the case that communication is not completed and to surely send the stored image data to reception side facsimile equipment.;SOLUTION: In the case that communication abnormality occurs while relaying facsimile communication, facsimile image data transmitted from the side of transmission side facsimile equipment 110 are stored and received in a memory 106 in a transmission gateway 100 (or a reception gateway 111). Thereafter, after the lapse of prescribed delay time, the stored and received image data are transmitted to the reception side facsimile equipment 112. Or, further, the image data are stored and received only in the case that the communication abnormality occurs after acquiring conditions regarding reception ability of the reception side facsimile equipment by DIS or the like and inconsistency of the conditions regarding the reception ability is prevented in the case of transmitting them to the reception side facsimile equipment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
