PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconstruct an image using approximate missing data.;SOLUTION: In the method and system for computerized tomography, data are collected along the circular trajectory of an X-ray source, and data missing from the circular trajectory data are approximated. This may be attained by generating data presumed to be collected along the line trajectory of the X-ray source. The image is reconstructed on the basis of the circular trajectory data and approximate data. A circle view may be reconstructed from circle data using a conventional Feldkamp reconstruction, while corrected line data may be reconstructed as a correction to reconstruction. A correction is made by image addition, i.e., by adding the pixel values of an image reconstructed from the circle data, and an image reconstructed from approximated line data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
