PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove a chlorinated organic compound included in an exhaust gas by adsorption with a minor amount of an adsorbent.;SOLUTION: The treatment method of the exhaust gas includes a step of passing the exhaust gas through an adsorption tower 4 equipped with the adsorbent 4a containing a fibrous activated carbon with a specific surface area of at least 600 m2/g, a total pore volume of at least 0.2 cm3/g, an average pore diameter of 10-35 Å.
