PURPOSE:To provide an improver capable of imparting dyed cellulose-based textile products with excellent chlorine fastness without causing decline in sweat and sunlight fastness, containing a polymer produced by condensation between specific hydrazide compounds and an epihalohydrin. CONSTITUTION:A natural cellulose- or regenerated cellulose-based textile product dyed with substantive or reactive dye is dipped and treated in a solution containing a polymer produced by condensation between (A) 1mol of carbonohydrazide plus a hydrazide compound of formula I (X is 1-18C alkylene or of formula II) (e.g. adipic acid hydrazide, phthalic acid hydrazide) and (B) 0.5-4mol of an epihalohydrin, thus obtaining a textile product excellent in chlorine fastness without causing decline in sweat and sunlight fastness. Use of this improver (the above-mentioned solution) enables exhaustion treatment of textiles irrespective of the formation of raw materials such as cotton, yarns and knitted fabrics.
