PURPOSE: To conduct the machining of high productivity at a small cost increase by using the NC lathe of two main spindles and one back main spindle. ;CONSTITUTION: In regard to two main spindles for front machining, one back main spindle is used alternately, and by means of a first main spindle and a second main spindle, the same machining is conducted by shifting machining processes 1 and 2 by a half cycle, and as soon as the machining is finished, a work is moved to the back main spindle, and at the machining process 3 of the back main spindle side, the same back machining is conducted in regard to works received from either main spindle, and by this, parts of one kind can be machined at two times the machining efficiency (equal to the case of the conventional NC lathe of two main spindles and two back main spindles being used) of the case of one spindle. In this instance, the tool layouts of first and second tool rests are differed, and machining is carried out by exchanging the combinations with first and second main spindles at the first half and the second half.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
