PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such characteristic as high strength and excellent formability and erosion resistance with respect to a brazing sheet to be subjected to forming before brazing. PSOLUTION: An Mn-containing Al-alloy core material is held at 560 to 630C for 8 h to apply homogenizing treatment and is clad with an Al-Si alloy brazing filler metal by hot clad rolling. The cold rolling is performed which applying process annealing if necessary, and the resultant sheet is subjected to final annealing at 300 to 500C for 3 min under the condition of (2 to 300)C/s temperature-rise rate and then to bending for reducing the elongation of the material by 3 to 20%. In the core material of the resultant brazing sheet, strength (hardness) in the vicinity of the interface with the brazing filler metal is higher by 2 to 20% than the strength (hardness) in the central part in the sheet-thickness direction in a state before forming, and the elongation of the brazing sheet is 23%.
