PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cross double polarization waveguide input device, a probe for this device, and a converter for satellite broadcast reception which have simple circuit design and can obtain satisfactory reception characteristics. ;SOLUTION: A probe 7 of a cross double polarization waveguide input device includes a center conductor 9 which is so formed that a front end 9a may project at about right angles to the axial direction, a non-dielectric layer 10 which is formed to cover the center conductor 9 so that the front end 9a of the center conductor 9 may be exposed, and a conductive layer 11 which is formed in a preliminarily determined range on the surface on the front end side of the non-dielectric layer 10. This prove 7 is inserted to an aperture of a waveguide- side in the axial direction to be able to receive a polarized wave perpendicular to the axial direction. Since the face of the non-dielectric layer 10 which is exposed to a cavity part remaining after insertion of the probe is covered with the conductive layer 11, the probe can be constituted in accordance with the impedance of polarization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
