PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase of the residues of colored resin particles, the formation of coarse particles and the spread of a grain size distribution by executing a polymn. stage within a reaction vessel having a nonconductive surface and executing an association stage in a vessel having a conductive surface. SOLUTION: The inside of a wall 1 of vessel is provided with a glass lining layer 5. The wall is provided with a pfaudler vane 2, an anchor vane and a baffle 4. The polymn. stage is executed within the reaction vessel having the nonconductive surface and the association stage is executed within the vessel having the conductive surface at the time of manufacturing the particlates of the polymer by polymerizing monomers and obtaining the associated particles by associating plural pieces of these partilculates. While the process for production for the polymn. stage is not limited insofar as the formation of the particles in a grain size range below the desired toner grain size is possible, known methods, such as emulsion polymn. method, suspension polymn. method, dispersion polymn. method and soap-free polymn. method, are used. The association stage is attained by adding a flocculating agent to the particles and maintaining the reaction temp. at the temp. above the glass transition temp. of the colored resin particles.
