Vertical log splitter is constructed on a C-shaped chassis (1), with the lower branch (2) forming a platform to receive the block of wood. The upper branch (4) carries the jack (5), which has the splitting tool (7) at the end of the rod (6). An adjustable support (8) is hinged to the chassis and is mobile between a position, lowered on to the ground, to allow the block (B) to be positioned, and a raised position, where the support tips the block into position, under the splitting tool.
