Process for improving the surface of a wooden table comprises applying a layer of a duroplast plastic in the flowable state at ambient temperature and pressure, distributing and hardening at ambient temperature and pressure. An Independent claim is also included for a wooden table improved using the above process. Preferred Features: A two component plastic consisting of a liquid reaction resin with thixotropic materials and a reaction hardener is used as the coating agent. The components can be directly mixed and then applied to the wooden table. The properties of the coating agent can be adjusted so that is penetrates the surface of the wooden table after being applied to the surface.
