Dietetic or pharmaceutical composition for increasing cellular glutathione levels, especially for combating deficient hepatic function, comprising cysteine, glutathione biosynthesis promoter and e.g. lignan
A dietetic or pharmaceutical composition (I) for increasing the glutathione (GT) levels in cells comprises a combination of at least one of each of the following: (a) cysteine (or its functional equivalent) as GT precursor; (b) GT biosynthesis promoters; and (c) a lignan and/or a combination of a GT regeneration promoter (c1) and a GT-mediated conjugation promoter (c2). An Independent claim is included for the use of a combination of at least one of each of (a), (b) and (c) for increasing the GT levels in cells.
