The waveguide-mictrostrip junction has a multi-layer ceramic element (6) having conductive layers between dielectric layers of a low temperature co-fired ceramic, with paths within the dielectric layers providing a hollow waveguide filled with a dielectric. A microstrip line (3) is applied within openings in the surface of the first dielectric layer, provided with a coplanar line and a slit line for coupling the microstrip line to the hollow waveguide.
