The message rerouting method involves storing a rerouting address for the rerouting receiver in a register (HLR), sending the message to a predefined receiver switching station (SMS-GMSC) for the receiver, calling up the register via the switching station using a destination address or call number and sending the message to the rerouting receiver if the destination address is the rerouting address.
