The method for applying adhesive (01) to the end of a roll (13) of material comprises winding it so that its inner surface (11) is upwards. The adhesive is then applied and the strip rewound so that it sticks to the surface (12) of the roll. An Independent claim is included for a machine for carrying out the method.
