Mixing unit, for fiber suspension part-flows, has an entry chamber with an eddy choke at the outlet, to give a spiral mixed flow to be smoothed by flow guides to pass to the stock inlet of a papermaking machine
The mixer unit (10), to mix part-flows (QH,QL) of fiber suspension for a stock inlet which delivers the pulp to a papermaking machine, brings the flows together in an entry chamber (12). The chamber has an eddy choke (14) at the end of it, in the flow direction (S), to give a spiral mixed suspension (QM) outflow. The mixer unit, for a stock inlet at a papermaking machine, has a flow channel (16) for the spiral flow of mixed suspension, after the eddy choke. The choke and/or channel are structured so that the spiral suspension flow travels around the inner wall of the channel. The flow channel has a geometry which reduces the suspension flow speed, where its width is =0.75 times its height, and the flow stretch through the channel length is =5 times the hydraulic diameter. The flow channel has flow guides (18) to reduce the twist of the spiral flow, at a gap (d) from the eddy choke which is =2 times the hydraulic diameter.
