The method involves illuminating the surface with light from a reference source and measuring the red, green and blue light components in the reflected light, then altering the light temperature and illuminating the object with light of a light temperature between 2700 and 6500 Kelvin and visually checking the color sample in the light with the altered light temperature. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for testing color patterns of colored objects and/or colored coatings on surfaces.
