Device has an inertial mass (8) mounted on a bearer (1) by spring elements (6) is as to oscillate and a linear generator for converting oscillation energy to electrical energy. End stops (33) limit the range of oscillation to a fraction of the maximum permissible spring extension and temporarily store the kinetic energy of the mass released during braking as potential energy and release it to the mass again as it leaves an end stop.
