Electrochemical microgap/microchannel electrolyzer consists of fine sheet metal/foils and fine lattices with imprinted microgaps/microchannels. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an electrochemical microgap/microchannel electrolysis process; (2) a two stage electrolytic/electrochemical conversion process for producing hydrogen/oxygen mixtures by electrolysis of NaOH to Na+ and OH-.
