The method involves detecting (10) the wheel supporting forces, determining the vehicle weight from the detected wheel supporting forces, detecting displacement of the wheel supporting forces and/or detecting (20) a drive torque demand. A gradient is detected (30) if the wheel supporting forces are displaced without a change in vehicle weight. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for implementing the method and an arrangement for generating signals for regulating the driving behavior of a vehicle.
